The 5 Winter Essentials

Last week I rounded up some of my favorite winter coats and today I’m here to tell you about the 5 winter essentials that you need in your arsenal to survive the season and stay warm and cozy!

Hopefully you’ve had better weather this week than we’ve had here. Yesterday it was -3 wind chill. Brrrr! We got some snow on Saturday and then more the night before last and the wind came through yesterday morning and caused quite a whiteout. People couldn’t see 5 feet in front of their cars in the early morning. I’ve said this before but Mother Nature is surely making up for the unseasonably warm temps we had last year.

Scarves: 1 // 2 // 3

Hats: 1 // 2 // 3

Boots: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4

So what you do you think of when you think winter essentials? Boots, hats, gloves, sweaters? That’s exactly what I’ve rounded up for you today and some are on major sale! #score

This year I snagged these boots in the brown color for an awesome price and was really excited about them, but they just aren’t as warm as I’d like need them to be. I really have had my eye on these or these (in Nori), so I might have to pull the trigger this year. Especially if these temps keep as low as they are. These are still really great boots, though. They’re really comfortable, will definitely keep your feet dry and if you’re lucky enough to not need the heavy kind, they would be perfect! Or you could grab yourself a pair of these boot socks and be able to wear your rain boots longer!

Blanket scarves are not just a fall staple, in my opinion, at least. In fact, I get the most wear out of them in the winter because they serve double duty. They’re big enough, I can wrap it around several times and wear it with my winter coats and then leave it on during the day for extra warmth. I have all three of these colors and wear these the most out of all my scarves. See here, here and here for how I’ve worn them. The exact ones that I have aren’t available anymore, but these are the same color, print and style. This one is only $20! #cantbeatthat

Over the years I have picked up most of my most loved sweaters at Forever 21. This marled one is almost identical to one that I bought last year and is super warm. When I order from there I usually size up so that it’s a little bit oversized on me, aka, way more comfortable! I love the pattern on this one and the back on this one is so cute!

I can never get enough hats, beanies especially. I just love all of the styles and colors that they come in. This leopard hat is forever on rotation and I just picked up this pink one the other day. Unfortunately, the leopard hat is sold out right now, but I found this one that’s similar.

And last but not least, gloves. Everyone needs them. It’s hard to find ones that are warm and look good and as sad as it is to say, let’s face it, it would be nice if you were able to use your phone with them on too. #youknowimright

Well, that’s it for today. Do you agree with these essentials? Are there any that I’ve missed?

On a totally different note, do you guys watch The Bachelor? I’m a self-professed die-hard fan and I missed it Monday night. Buut with the power of DVR I’m going to catch up tonight with a friend and I can honestly say that I can’t wait! One red wine and a remote please! 😉

As always, thanks for reading!

xoxo, Hillary
