Social Media with Style + A Treat! :)

Hi Friends! Happy Friday and more importantly…

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

I’m making your trick or treating easy for you this year, by giving you a treat without ever having to leave the comfort of your home or dress up, (unless you want to, that is)!! More on that in a bit.

First I wanted to talk a little bit about an amazing workshop that I completed in September. I spoke in an earlier post, a little bit about my struggles with blogging and comparing. About how overwhelming it can be and how I stepped away from it before even really starting. But, because of my passion for fashion, wanting an outlet where I could express myself creatively and needing to do something “different” I decided to give blogging another chance! Enter Lauren and her Social Media with Style Workshop!

I have discovered over the past six months that there is an endless amount of knowledge to be learn about blogging, social media, working with brands, etc. Who better to learn these things from than a seasoned blogger like Lauren. One look at her blog, magazine and all of her other accomplishments and it’s easy to see why she’s so successful. After taking Lauren’s workshop I have a renewed inspiration to blog and am enjoying it so much more than I had when I first started. If you’ve been following me since the beginning, you’ve seen all of the design changes that Style in a Small Town as gone through. Some of the design changes are below. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. My social media followings have almost doubled since implementing some of the strategies that I learned in this workshop! I have learned so much about creating content, organizing my ideas, design, editing programs, SEO, the list goes on and on. For more, check out the course outline.

One of the other things that Lauren taught us how to do was to create a style board, and to come up with a color palette, fonts that we wanted to use on our blog, our logo and any images that we found inspiration in. She walks you through step-by-step how to do all of it. Mine’s below:

If you’ve been blogging for a long time and need a brush up on your skills, you’re just starting out as a blogger or even if you’re only considering starting your own blog, you NEED to take this workshop! The 4-week course is broken down into two topics/week along with some fun to-do’s at the end of each section. One of the best parts of this workshop, in my opinion, is the private Facebook group that you will join, full of your fellow classmates. This is the perfect arena to ask any burning questions that you had and weren’t sure who to ask, get feedback on an idea that you might have for your blog, or commiserate on the lack of sleep that us bloggers know about so well! 😉 There will be a range of people with no blogging experience to bloggers who have been doing it for years. The wealth of knowledge that you can gain from them is priceless. Not only that, but it’s a great opportunity to network and meet some amazing people who you might not have otherwise been able to meet. I actually got to meet (in person) a couple of amazing women from my workshop session at a recent conference.

Still need another reason to sign-up?! Well here’s your treat!
