Whew! So happy I was able to get this post out! The power went out last night at my house due to some wild thunder and lightening storms we had blow through and I was worried that I wasn’t going to get my post out in time. Luckily, thanks to some very hard working Ameren workers, we got our power back so I could get my post done and get to sleep at a “decent” hour! 😉
On to today’s post…I love the crisp lines of this shirtdress and the white color is the ideal canvas for any number of styling possibilities. I chose to continue down the more traditional route with red accessories and added a little bit of edge with my leopard belt. This is a piece that can be dressed up or down with the right shoes and accessories, it just depends on what the occasion calls for. I could totally see this dress being worn for a 4th of July event with a pair of brushed gold sandals, a navy sash belt and sticking with the red accessories. I’m a sucker for a red, white and blue look, what can I say!?
This dress was a huge win for me during one of the Loft’s latest sales, along with this skirt and this skirt. I don’t shop at the Loft very often, their standard retail prices are a little much for me. Luckily they are always having sales and sometimes huge ones, like the one that I just scored on (read: 50% off!!) While I still shop for trendier pieces my style tends to be a little more classic at times and therefore I don’t mind spending a bit more on classic, more traditional pieces that I know will last a long time and won’t go out of style.
What’s your style? Do you notice that you tend to buy a certain style of clothes? I challenge you to step outside of your style comfort zone. Start small, by adding an accessory or two that’s a little edgier if you have a more traditional style or one that’s a little more feminine, if you have a more relaxed style. I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
P.S. This wasn’t a Loft sponsored post. I just like to shop sales and save money so I was letting you in one of my little shopping secrets! 😉
As always, thanks for reading!
