Good morning! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I’m finally back in the groove from being on yet another vacation. I recently went on a wine tasting trip to Napa and Sonoma with some of my closest girlfriends. Having never done anything like that before I wasn’t really sure what to pack. But now that I’m back I learned a lot, so today I’m sharing my tips on how to pack for a week in wine country.
Planning For the Weather
Like most people who are going on vacation, first thing I did was to check the upcoming weather. I also planned (tentatively) which days we’d be doing what activity. I always lay out my clothes and pack them as an outfit in my suitcase, that way I remember why I brought a certain item and what I planned to wear it with. Sometimes I’ll lay out the outfit and take a picture of it in the order of the days that I planned to wear it. In case I forget, then it’s right there on my phone. (i.e. Monday, Monday night….etc.)
Activities + Basics
Besides just wine tasting, I knew that we would be spending a few days in San Francisco, as well. So I threw in a pair of white jeans, that would go with anything and my favorite sneakers for all of the walking around and exploring we had planned to do.
I always like to bring basics that can be paired in a multitude of ways. Like this tank, that I actually wore to the airport with my go-to jeans and a sweater for an added layer because I always get cold on the plane. As I mentioned on Friday, our first day out was tasting in Napa. Napa is a little bit more upscale so I opted to wear a skirt, a bow top and my trusty new wedges, that I can’t say enough about!
The next couple of days were spent in San Francisco. Playing the part of a tourist is always fun in a new city! On Monday, we tasted throughout Sonoma. Which was my favorite! I’ll be doing a post all about the wineries and vineyards that we went to, soon, so be sure to come back for that. Sonoma is a little bit more laid back but being that it was so hot out, we all wore shorts and our Wine Drinking Team tank tops that we bought before the trip! We really had a blast that day!
The rest of our time there was spent tasting our way throughout wine country. Even though it actually got to 100 degrees one day, it’s a dry heat. Unlike our humid summers in the Midwest, so it was pretty tolerable. Although I took full advantage and wore the least amount of clothes as I could get away with! This adorable little off the shoulder top, shorts and hat made the perfect outfit for the day.
I hope you enjoyed this post and got a little bit out of it. Let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions.
