Hey guys and happy week of Christmas! I seriously can’t believe it’s almost here! Are you done with your all your Christmas shopping? I have two more gifts to get and then I’m completely done! I think this might be the earliest I’ve ever been done. I’ve decided not to do anymore gift guides before Christmas. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting a little burned out on them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in no hurry for Christmas to be over. I really love this time of year. Everyone is a little kinder, more thoughtful, more cheerful and nothing compares to a night at home curled up on the couch, with no other lights on, other than the glow of a Christmas tree. Amiright?! That’s why I’m kind of obsessed with this holiday look in plaid and gold. I’m actually combining two looks for you today. A holiday look and a little glam for New Years Eve.

I had seen this plaid shirt on a few other bloggers a couple of years ago and knew when it came out last year that I had to grab it for the holidays. I just knew that it would be the perfect festive touch for any look and I’d get a lot of wear out of it. If you follow me on Instagram, I actually wore it here with my red Hunter boots to bake goodies with my mom and sister last weekend!
I picked up this skirt last year at Primp Boutique, a cute little store in Minnesota, when I was at Mayo Clinic. If you want to read about that see here and here. You may think it’s a little unexpected to mix a gold metallic piece with a plaid flannel, but that’s what I love about it. The cute little bow accessory ties the whole together quite nicely.
Plaid shirt: Old Navy (similar, here, love this one!) // Skirt: Primp Boutique (similar, here and here, LOVE this pleated one and this one!) // Bow: Asos (similar here, here and here) // Heels: Nordstrom (similar, here and here) // Clutch: Mimic (exact dupe for this but over half the price!) // Watch: Daniel Wellington c/o (use code SMALLTOWN to get 15% off your order!) // Bracelets: Alex and Ani 1, 2, 3 // Leather cuff: Nickel & Suede c/o // Earrings: j.Bloom
You can wear either of these pieces alone or together to create different looks. This skirt would look adorable with a black lacey top and black high heels to ring in the new year. Or you could also wear this plaid shirt with faux leather leggings and black OTK boots if you live anywhere like me where it’s a high of 2* and you need to be a little more covered up! brrrr
So how would you wear these pieces? Do you have NYE plans yet? Have you started planning your outfit? Let me know about it in the comments!
I’ve also included a few other fun pieces for your NYE outfit inspiration!
As always, thanks for reading!
