Hey guys! How was your weekend? I didn’t have any plans. I was still trying to rest up from being sick the last week or so, which is also why I haven’t been posting lately. I don’t know about you, but when I don’t feel well, all I want to do is sleep.
Since Ulcerative Colitis (read more about my struggle with it here) is an autoimmune disease (aka your immune system fights itself) the Remicade infusions that I get are meant to slow down my immune system, meaning I’m more susceptible to getting sick. So if you’ve been wondering why I get sick so often, now you know.
You may also remember my trip to Mayo Clinic at the end of last year? One of the things that came out of that trip was a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. Just like when I was first diagnosed with UC, I am trying to learn all I can about fibro and I’m still navigating the waters of what that means and learning how to manage my symptoms without taking any more medications. If you know anything about this, I’m all ears! Please feel free to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would greatly appreciate it! 🙂
Ok…so on to today’s look… When I came across this two-in-one top online I immediately fell in love! Gray? Check! Plaid? Check! Not needing to layer a bulky plaid shirt under said gray sweater to get this look? Check Check! What that also means is that this sweater is going to make a great spring transition piece because it’s only one layer!
Two-in-one sweater: Goodnight Macaroon // Distressed jeans: American Eagle (old, similar) // Necklace: Baublebar (sold out, similar) // Watch: Daniel Wellington // Booties: Express (super old, love these and this peep toe option) // Clutch: Etsy (similar) // Sunnies: Ray-Ban (Love designer sunglasses? With DITTO you can rent them for however long you want and then trade them back in for a new pair! Use code STYLEINASMALLTOWN to try it for a month for a free + free shipping!)
I just wish there was more options out there like this. I mean, how genius!? I love the little slits on the side so it really looks like your layering another shirt underneath. One thing I didn’t notice though about this sweater before I bought it is that the plaid shirt only sticks out in the front and not the back. If this was a “real” layer, it would hang out in both. But other than that, it’s the best two-in-one sweater I’ve seen!
As always, thank you for reading!
