It’s Been 2 Years!

You guys….I can NOT believe that it’s October already! Seriously, where did the year go? October is a busy month in my life. Between my birthday (yesterday), my parent’s anniversary, cousins’ and friend’s birthdays and my aunt and uncle’s anniversary, there is not a lack of celebrations around here. A very busy month! Then, two years ago I decided to start this little blog of mine and now we have a blogiversary to add into the mix!

When I started my blog, back then, I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I never imagined that two years later I would still be doing it. And that is mostly in part because of you guys! I can’t THANK YOU enough for reading and following along with me on this journey! I know that I have not been consistent in posting three times a week like I said I would, in the beginning, but sometimes life just gets in the way and I sincerely appreciate you for sticking with me through it all!

I hope that over time you’ve gotten some inspiration from me. Whether it be on how to style something that you already had in your closet. How to wear something in more than one way, get more use out of a special piece, crushing those fashion “rules” or an alert on a good sale and you were able to score a great deal!

I certainly have had a blast producing this type of content for you and bringing you the best of what I can offer. In case you’re new here when I started Style in a Small Town, (for a laugh, check out my first post!) the premise behind the blog is you can achieve a big city look while shopping on a small town budget. I usually try my best to feature pieces on here that are both affordable and attainable and something for the everyday girl. I don’t have a never-ending supply of income to buy designer clothes all the time, nor do I live in the big city or go to lavish parties. Most of what I wear on here, are outfits that I’ve either worn before or would wear if the occasion presented itself. In fact, I wore this exact outfit for my birthday a few years ago, but instead of this top, I paired the skirt with a chambray and tied it at the waist to give it a little more of a casual vibe.

If there is anything that you would like to see on the blog that isn’t already on here, please feel free to reach out to me at styleinasmalltown@gmail.com! I love to hear from my readers and I want this place to be around for some time and somewhere that you know you’re going to be inspired by. That being said, I always like to have fun too. For instance, the day we took these pictures it was raining and I had a giant balloon that I was using as a prop. This is probably a good time to cue the blooper reel. But one more time…

THANK YOU {AGAIN} SO MUCH
for reading and going on this journey with me! It means more to me than you’ll ever know! This whole thing would not be possible without the love and support that you all show me every day!!

Cheers to another 2 years!

xoxo, Hillary

It definitely helps when the 2 is facing the right direction! Lol

The man behind the camera – my friend, my photographer and my laughing buddy, Tony! He’s extremely talented and we have such a great time on shoots! I don’t know how I could or would do this without him!

Let me just say, that it is not easy taking pictures in the wind and rain with a giant balloon! Lol
