Good morning guys and Happy Friday! Well we made it, another week is over and I don’t know about you but I’m ready for the weekend! Any special plans? I plan on spending Saturday catching up on a few things and getting organized and Sunday we’re having a Mardi Gras themed family birthday party for all of my aunts and uncles and cousins with January and February birthdays! I am lucky enough to have a big enough family that we have to break up the birthdays that we celebrate throughout the year and try to get together as often as possible!

Now on to the task at hand…Believe it or not, fashion bloggers can have a hard time finding something to wear sometimes too and when that happens I love an easy-going outfit to turn to. Enter the denim on denim or Canadian Tuxedo as some call it. If you’re sitting there asking yourself what the hell is a Canadian Tuxedo, well the origins are conflicting as seen here and here and here. Despite where the term came from, the look is very present.
The key to pulling off the denim on denim trend is to vary the wash of your top from your bottoms. If you’re sporting a light wash denim jacket, make sure that your jeans/shorts ore even skirt are in a darker wash. On the flip side, if your denim top is in a dark wash, then you should have a lighter wash denim on the bottom. And if you didn’t know, the wash is referring to the color of the denim. (Quick little side story: my guy friend went into a store one time to buy jeans and when the store clerk ask him what wash he wanted, he said yes I’d like to be able to wash them!) Haha 🙂
Recently I took a Photoshop Elements class at the community college in town and the picture below is something that I was just playing around with! Kinda fun, so I thought I’d include it!
Have a great weekend and as always, thanks for reading!
