Cold Shoulder Sweater

Hey, hey and Happy New Years! Man, I feel like I have so much to tell you guys, but I don’t have a lot of time because it’s getting late and I need to keep getting as much rest as I can. Which brings me to why this is my first post of the new year. New Year’s day I started feeling kinda icky, you know, sore throat, running nose, scratchy voice (queue Pheobe and her Smelly Cat sexy voice!) whathaveyou and didn’t really think too much of it. Figured it was probably residual from ringing in the new year the night before. Well, it got progressively worse and worse and before you know it, I’m out sick from work for almost an entire week and after finally going to the doctor, found out I had bronchitis, a sinus infection and a severe head cold. Lovely! Great way to start the new year out, right?

Guys, I was so sick, that all of last week is a complete and total blur for me. It’s like it didn’t even happen, it’s so weird! So, we’ve been joking in my family that I just skipped the first week of the year and that my actual first week is this week! (insert monkey emoji with covered eyes!)

Anyways, I hope you all had a great New Years and that your year is off to good start!

So back to today’s post…I have never really been a fan of purple before, but for some reason, this lighter lilac color has really grabbed my attention lately. This pastel hue gets a little bit of an edgier vibe with the cold shoulder detail and when paired with these oxblood wax jeans and OTK boots. Which by the way, I found an exact duplicate of the Steve Madden ones that I have for only $60! That’s $100 less than what I paid! They’re stocked in all sizes too.

Even though these photos were taken during the fall, the cold shoulder trend can easily be carried over into winter with these adorable sweater options. Wear it alone or layered with a quilted vest, leggings (my absolute favorite leggings!) and cozy boots (my Christmas present!), for a more casual vibe. Or dress it up with faux leather leggings, and a cute pair of booties.

Did you all watch the Globes last night? As a die-hard musical lover (is that a thing?!), I’m DYING to see La La Land!! What did you think of the dresses? Which were your favorite! I loved the ethereal dresses like Lily Collins and Guiliana Rancic wore. Kristen Belle looked stunning too! I love her and Dax in there commercials – major couple goals!

So what do you think of the cold shoulder trend? Would you wear it in the winter?

As always, thanks for reading!

xoxo, Hillary
