I’m Just Peachy

Good morning or good afternoon, whichever time you’re reading this! I know my posts on here have been really sporadic the last month or so and for that, I truly am sorry. For those of you who are bloggers, you probably know what I mean when I say, blogging is a lot of work!! Don’t get me wrong, I love it, I really do! But having a 9-5 and blogging doesn’t leave me much time for sleep or much less of anything. I seriously don’t know how you mom/bloggers do it! Please share your wisdom!! chicwish-peach-blossom-midi-skirt-striped shirt

Having this blog has given me (sorry if you’ve heard this before) a creative outlet and a way to express myself and my fashion. Because my degree, background and passion is in fashion and I no longer work in the industry, it’s my little way of staying in touch with trends and also getting to have fun with it too. I mean, who doesn’t like to get dressed up!?

I love getting to “meet” people that I otherwise wouldn’t have an opportunity to meet. I love the social media groups that I’m a part of, that support and uplift each other! Having worked several years in the fashion industry, trust me when I say that, in the jobs that I’ve had, at least, there is very little of that. Everyone is only looking out for themselves and stepping on (not over) whoever they need to, to get where they want to be. chicwish-peach-blossom-midi-skirt-striped shirt

Buut, I digress….I’m pretty sure that all I’m suffering from right now is a big ‘ole case of overwhelmingness (spell check didn’t catch this, so maybe it is actually a word!?) There are so many things that go on behind the scenes of a blog post, Instagram post, etc., that take a lot of work, time and energy. I think I’m just a little burned out. I have a big trip coming up in the next couple of weeks so I’m super anxious about making sure that everything is taken care of while I’m gone. Am I the only one who gets like this?

I AM confident, though, that this too shall pass and I’ll be back and full speed ahead soon! Hopefully, I’ll come back from vacation, super energized and full of great content ideas, but I sincerely appreciate your understanding in the meantime of my non-consistent posts as of late, until it all works itself out!

I have a few more posts planned until I leave, so I hope you don’t think this is goodbye. I just wanted you to know a little bit about where my head has been, lately.

Maybe you have some great tips and tricks that have worked for you? Please share with the class, I’m really struggling here!

In the meantime, have a great Wednesday and I’ll see you back here on Friday for a little sneak peak of what I’m packing for my trip and some tips on traveling!

As always, thanks for reading!

xoxo, Hillary

Burned out or not, you are totally rocking that outfit. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I came in via the IFB Pro FB group. I have also added you to The Dailies on my blog. I can’t wait to read more. Your blog rocks! And yes, I understand the “overwhelmingness” of it all, working a full time job and blogging. But blogging is my passion and I make it work. On my days off from my day job, I spend a lot of time blogging and scheduling posts. An editorial calendar has saved my blogging life!

    • I don’t know what I’d do without my editorial calendar, or rather what I did before it! It’s definitely helped, but I still need to figure out how to schedule and plan my content to actually create it. It helps to know that others struggle with this too and that I’m not the only one. Thank you so much for your sweet compliments and advice! I’m so glad you stopped by! Hope you had a great weekend! 🙂 xx

  • I love that gorgeous midi skirt on you! I love it 🙂

  • Great post! It really is hard to find time to blog with a full time job. When I am being lazy and feel like putting off stuff for my blog, I try to force myself to do it and always feel glad that I did.

    • I know exactly how you feel! Sometimes I just want to lay on the couch and catch up on my DVR, but then when I wake up the next day and I have no post, I feel so guilty. It’s a great feeling to overcome those pressures! Thanks lady! xx

  • This skirt is amazing on you! That print is beautiful and it’s perfect with the jacket. It sure is a lot of work with our blogs. I’m starting to realize that just doing the best we can is call we ask for and I know you are doing that. Enjoy your trip Hillary and take lots of pics. I’m sure it will be blogworthy and you can pretend that you’re working. 🙂

    • Thanks, Kathrine! I need to remember that more often, I don’t always feel that way. I’m so excited for my trip and to share it all with you! Thanks for being such a great support to me! I hope you had a nice weekend! xx
