Burgundy Cross Front Shirt

We took these photos early last fall and somehow I never got around to posting them. Unfortunately, this top is sold out, but I found an identical one, here, just with long sleeves. So unless you’ve been having extremely unseasonably warm days, (read 58 degrees on Saturday), like we’ve been having in Illinois, then the long sleeves one is better anyways! It comes in 4 colors and is only $35!

Lush Burgundy Cross Front Shirt | Style in a Small TownI’ve been wearing a lot more daintier jewelry pieces, lately. Maybe you’ve noticed? Usually, I wear a statement necklace or statement earrings, but I’ve really been digging the more delicate pieces. This beautiful pendant with my initial “H” has been worn several times on Instagram and a few times on the blog. I probably wear it at least once a week. I am a gold jewelry lover, more than silver and when I wear certain tops, I love the longer length of necklaces, like this one.

Also, this marble necklace is so pretty and it layers perfectly with my name necklace that I wear pretty much every day. I also bought this pretty little necklace ($30!) for a friend, my mom and my sister for Christmas. I loved it so much on them, I bought one for myself!

Because of the details on this shirt, you don’t really need much of a statement as far as accessories. The draping on it makes it a little sexy while still being pretty casual. I wore it with my favorite pair of black distressed jeans, by my {new} favorite denim line, Articles of Society. They seriously make THE best jeans. This post is not sponsored by AOS, it’s just my opinion. I now own a couple of different pairs of their jeans and they are super comfy, hold their shape after multiple wears, don’t fade and aren’t too expensive, usually under $60 and a lot of times are on sale. Which is actually less than a pair of Gap jeans.

How was everyone’s weekend? If you follow me on Insta Stories or Snapchat (@hi11ary83), you know that my puppy (aka my kid) had to go in for emergency surgery on his stomach on Wednesday, so I’ve been a little frazzled since then. That’s also why there wasn’t a post on Wednesday or Friday last week. It’s kind of a long, convoluted story, but he’s doing better now.

I’m still having trouble, though, finding things that he’ll eat while his belly heals. No joke, I’ve made him chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, pasta (just noodles) and eggs. He’s also tried the wet dog food, applesauce and I gave him some of my Cheerios I had for breakfast yesterday morning! Ha, He’ll eat a little bit of everything, except the potatoes and pasta he won’t even touch, but the chicken and Cheerios is what he’ll eat the most of. #crazydog

So needless to say, it’s actually been a very long weekend and not relaxing in the least. I’m just glad to have him home. If this is how I am with my dog, I will seriously be a crazy mom whenever I do have kids!

On a totally different note, I added a quick little poll here to find out your social media preferences. Are you on Snapchat more or Insta Stories, or do you not use either? I’d love it if you could answer it quickly for me. I’m trying to make this blog as beneficial to you as I can. And that includes my social media. I’m also going to be posting a blog survey soon too. I really want Style in a Small Town to be a place that you love to come to. So I want to tailor my content to what you want to see most of! Be on the lookout for that!
