Hey guys! Remember me? I’m so sorry that I’ve been missing around here lately. You may have seen an IG post last weekend that said something about me being in a funk? Well it’s true.
Some of you may remember that about two weeks ago I was in a pretty significant car accident. I found out last week that my car was totaled and that I would have to get a new one. To say I was bummed is a complete understatement. I actually would’ve have had my car paid off in April and was really looking forward to not having a car payment. So the thought of having to pretty much start all over was less than exciting for me. But there are definitely worse things though, right?
I’m extremely lucky that I wasn’t hurt more. So all of that pieced together with just a general funk did not have me in the best of moods or the most creative for that matter.
I hope you know that real life is not as glamorous as it may appear on Instagram and while I don’t mind getting personal with you guys, I do like to try to keep things upbeat around here and hopefully make it a little 5 minute escape from your usual hustle and bustle. So instead of just throwing together some half-assed post I chose to take a little breather to get myself together and get those creative juices flowing again!
Red skirt: Express (color sold out, similar here + here) // Lace crop top: Primp Boutique (exact one here) // Faux leather jacket: Choies (my absolute favorite jacket!) // OTK boots: Ivanka Trump // Necklace: Baublebar // Bracelet: Baublebar // Watch: Daniel Wellington // Earrings: Baublebar // Bag: Forever 21 (sold out, exact one here for only $19!!) // Sunnies: Ray-Ban
On to today’s look…I bought this red midi skirt at Express (last seen here) last year for the holidays and sadly had not worn it again until this shoot. After finding this adorable black lace crop top when I was in Minnesota a couple of months ago, I knew I wanted to pair the two togther. By adding ediger accessories, like this Baublebar necklace, black over-the-knee boots and my favorite faux leather jacket, it gave this femine look a little rocker feel. Unfortunately, the red is sold out, but you can still get it in white and I also linked a couple of super similar ones above. This look would make the perfect Valentine’s Day date night look or a night out with the girls!
P.S. What did you guys think of the Super Bowl Halftime Show last night? Fun fact: my cousin works for the Chicago-based company who does all of the special effects at every halftime show for the past 5 or so years. He was one of the guys behind all of the pyrotechnics – they were so cool!
